HUUB Triathlon Relay championships
SWIM - 500km
Spotting and Searching
The 500m swim is a simple, easy-to-navigate route with just two 90-degree turns – perfect for all abilities and for keeping the chaos to a minimum (in theory). The first swimmer from each team will start together in the water for a mass start, so expect a lively few seconds of elbows, splashes and friendly chaos before everyone finds their rhythm.
Once you’ve cruised (or flailed) your way around the course and made it back to shore, you’ll head up the slipway to the tagging zone to find your teammate. That’s when the real challenge begins – locating them amongst a sea of identical wetsuits and matching swim caps. Expect plenty of shouting, waving, and “is that you?” moments before the next athlete dives in to do it all again!
BIKE - 15km
Laps, Laughs and Lycra
Once your swimmer’s tagged you, it’s time to jump on the bike and head out for three fast and flat laps, totalling 15km. The course loops around the National Water Sports Centre, mixing smooth tarmac with plenty of chances to cheer (and be cheered on!) as you fly past your teammates and rivals multiple times. It’s the perfect blend of speed and spectacle — short enough to go all-out, but long enough to make you question that final sprint.
With so many teams out on course, there’s never a quiet moment; expect plenty of friendly shouts, waves, and the occasional bit of “encouragement” from your club mates as you hammer round each lap. Once you’ve finished your third, it’s back into transition to tag the next athlete and hand over the glory (and the jelly legs).
RUN - 5km
Cheers, Chatter and Chaos
Time to bring it home! Once you’ve been tagged, it’s out onto the 5km run course — flat, scenic and fast for some. You’ll head out around the lake, soaking up the noise, the sunshine (hopefully), and the odd shout of “come on, Dave!” — whether you’re Dave or not. It’s the kind of course that makes the effort worth it: fast underfoot, easy to follow, and lined with friendly faces.
As you near the finish, the energy ramps up — you’ll hear the music, the cheering, and probably your own lungs — before tagging your next teammate or going for glory under the finish arch.
Then it’s your turn to catch your breath, cheer them on, and enjoy the organised chaos that makes the Relays so brilliant.
Grab your friends, clubmates, or colleagues and get ready for the most entertaining weekend in triathlon!
The Triathlon Relays return on Saturday 29 August 2026, kicking off the Bank Holiday weekend with a huge celebration of teamwork, sport, and summer fun.
This isn’t your usual triathlon — it’s all about being part of a team, sharing the effort, and enjoying the atmosphere together. Whether you’re an experienced triathlete or completely new to the sport, everyone’s welcome. Swim, bike, run, cheer, and laugh your way through a day that’s as much about camaraderie as competition.
Make a full weekend of it and stay at the on-site 20-acre campsite at the National Water Sports Centre. You’ll be just steps from transition, surrounded by other teams, and right in the heart of the action. Race in the morning and relax in the afternoon, or take it easy and enjoy a later start — it’s your weekend, your way.
Bring your club, your friends, or just a great sense of humour — because at the Triathlon Relays, it’s never just about racing. It’s about being part of something brilliantly social, a weekend full of memories, and plenty of laughs along the way.
By entering the HUUB Triathlon Relays, teams agree to the official Terms & Conditions published by Tri Society (the sensible but important stuff, which you can find in full via the link to the official T&Cs). Entry is confirmed once payment is completed, and all key race information will be shared on the Tri Society website — so it’s worth checking back as race day approaches.
If plans change and you need to withdraw, just let us know in writing. Refunds are available on a sliding scale depending on how close it is to race week, with no refunds issued in the final two weeks. Entries can’t be swapped, transferred or deferred, so please don’t try anything clever. The event may need to be adjusted for safety or logistical reasons, including timings, course or format. If something genuinely out of our control happens, refunds may not be possible. Event photography may be used for promotion — smile if you spot a camera. The promoter also reserves the right to refuse entry where needed to protect the experience for everyone.
OFFICIAL FULL TERMS & CONDITIONS
Our pricing follows the baton theory — just like a relay, the smoother the handover, the better the result. Teams that get organised early benefit from the Baton Ready price, locking things in while everything’s calm and under control. As the event gets closer and demand ramps up, the baton starts moving faster — Baton Handed Over, then Baton Slipping — with prices reflecting the extra planning, logistics and late changes that come with it. Leave it too late and you’re firmly in Baton Dropped territory. Same great event, same finish-line party — just a reminder that good planning always pays off.
